We are excited to welcome our new and returning Sun Bears for the 2026-27 school year! The first day of school is Monday, August 3, 2026, at 7:35 a.m., and we look forward to a successful year of learning, growth, and achievement.
Back to School Resources
As the start of the school year approaches, we encourage families to complete all back to school preparations as soon as possible. Parents and guardians can find registration information and important back to school resources at www.episd.org/register.

All students are required to have a new photo ID for the 2026-27 school year. Families may visit Don Haskins PK-8 to pick up student IDs from 8 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. on the following dates:
July 21: 7th Grade
July 22: 6th Grade
July 23: 8th Grade
July 24: Remaining Middle School Students
July 27-29: All Elementary Students
Please note that a $5 replacement fee will be charged for lost or damaged IDs. Don Haskins PK-8 swag will also be available while supplies last.
Incoming 6th Graders Sun Bear Camp
We are thrilled to welcome our incoming 6th-grade students to Sun Bear Camp 2026, a special orientation designed to help students transition successfully to middle school.
During the camp, students will:
Tour the campus
Learn about school expectations and values
Build confidence before the first day of school
Connect with fellow Sun Bears
Date: Wednesday, July 22
Time: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Location: Don Haskins PK-8
This is a student-only event, and we encourage all incoming 6th-grade students to attend.
