Students at Western Hills Environmental Science Academy take part in an engaging lesson featuring animals during an Earth Day event.

With six weeks left until the end of the school year, I want to thank all of our students, parents and staff for all their hard work. As we head into this busy season of events and celebrations, I also want to remind everyone to stay safe and look out for one another as we finish the year strong.

This week is particularly special as we prepare for the 8th Annual Unidos Games on Thursday, April 30, and Friday, May 1. This inspiring event celebrates our students with disabilities through athletic competition and school pride, proving every year that achievement truly has no limits. To set the stage for the games, I want to congratulate Alondra Iniguez of Jefferson Silva High School and Isabela Shiel of Franklin High School for their winning logo designs. Their artwork will be featured on medals and promotional materials, perfectly capturing the spirit of unity and determination that defines El Paso ISD.

We look forward to seeing our community come together this week to cheer on these incredible student-athletes.

Counting Down to Our Big Celebration

Taecher of the Year and Educational Support Personnel

The search for our 2026-2027 Teacher and Education Support Personnel of the Year is reaching its final stage. This extensive journey began at each of our 71 campuses, where teams elected their winners to represent their schools. Following that, a district-level committee conducted a rigorous interview process to narrow the field even further. We are now in the final countdown to our big celebration on May 14, where we will honor the mentors who spark curiosity in our classrooms and ensure our schools run like clockwork. Be sure to follow our social media channels to learn about the inspiring stories of these dedicated professionals as we lead up to the big reveal.
