ABOUT OUR CAMPUS
Located in the foothills of the Franklin Mountains on the Westside of El Paso, Franklin High School opened its doors for the first time in the Fall of 1993 with approximately 900 freshmen. The school was temporarily housed at Hornedo Middle School for one year until the completion of the Franklin High School facility in the fall of 1994. Each year another grade level was added until the school had its first senior class in the 1996-1997 school year.
The highest award in the State for school architecture, the Caudill Award for Design Excellence, was presented to Franklin's architects, Stanley and PSA and Joint Venture Architecture of El Paso, for their design of Franklin High School.Included in the 300,000 square foot facility are 14 science labs, 8 computer labs, 3 gymnasiums, a separate fine arts building with theater, and a state-of-the-art library. The campus has a football field with a track, baseball and soccer fields, tennis and handball courts, and an outdoor basketball arena. Due to the rapid growth and expansion of the Westside, the Franklin campus also includes 18 portable classrooms.
ABOUT OUR PRINCIPAL
Hello Cougar Community,
My name is Amanda Bowser, and I am honored to serve as the proud Principal of Franklin. As we embark on the 2024-2025 school year, I am excited to share that this marks my 19th year with EPISD. Ten of those years have been dedicated to supporting the Franklin Feeder Community, including my roles as Instructional Coach and Assistant Principal at Polk Elementary, Assistant Principal at Franklin, and for the past three years, Principal here at Franklin.
Serving the families of Franklin and our surrounding community is both a privilege and a blessing, and I look forward to another year of growth and success together!
