Over the last few weeks, a number of our EPISD campuses have been impacted by the rise in statewide online and social media hoaxes and threats being circulated. We know that these cause concern and disruption in our community. We wanted to share a message from Chief of Police Services, Manual Chavira, addressing this issue. Please click here to watch the message: https://www.episd.org/article/1777798 We always appreciate your support and trust and want you to know that safety of our students and staff is the most important thing. Thank you.

We are celebrating September as School Attendance Awareness Month!
Did you know that your child's attendance is directly related to academic achievement, reading proficiency, etc in elementary school?
Attendance Matters!

We are celebrating September as School Attendance Awareness Month!
Did you know that missing 17 days of school is equivalent to missing an entire month of school.
Academic Achievement and Interventions- Students who are chronically absent at early grade levels often trail behind their peers in reading and math. If students are not reading on grade level by Grade 3, they are at a much higher risk of dropping out. Parents are not thinking that their 3rd grader is going to drop-out of school, but the attendance patterns set in early grade levels do not improve as students get older.
Attendance Matters!

Good Morning Guerrero Parents,
Gentle reminder that we have early release today at 12 noon due to Professional Development for teachers. Please plan accordingly as we will not have any supervision after this time. We very much appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at noon. 🤗

El Paso ISD students will have early release Wednesday, Sept. 18. Please plan ahead for student pick-ups. Transportation and meal schedules will be adjusted accordingly.

What does research show about school attendance?
Research shows that school attendance is important for student success
and has many implications for a student's future:
Academic performance - Students who miss more than 18 days of school are
less proficient in reading, writing, and math when compared to their peers.
The more you learn, the more you earn!

The El Paso ISD Transportation team plays a vital role in our community, being the first friendly faces our students see in the morning and the last as they end their day.🚌🌅 Every day, these dedicated individuals go above and beyond to ensure that every student is transported safely.💛
We sincerely thank each member of this exceptional team for fostering a positive and safe environment where our learners can thrive!🌟

We are celebrating September as
School Attendance Awareness Month
If your child has just 3 absences by September,
your child has already missed out on 1170 minutes of instruction.
Students that continue to miss just 3 days every month,
accumulate approximately 10 absences by December,
miss out on 3,900 minutes of instruction,
which translates to missing out on 2 weeks of instruction.
Students will accumulate approximately 20 absences by the end of the school year,
miss out on 7,800 minutes of instruction,
which translates to missing out on one entire month of instruction.
Attendance Matters!
