It is an honor to announce the 2024 Irvin High School Honored Outstanding Ex: Connie J. Flores.
Connie J. Flores graduated from Irvin High School in 1990 and is an inspiration to our Rocket community. Not only has she excelled in her career but continues to be a voice and an advocate for those who are in need.
Connie J. Flores is a founding partner of Flores Mendez Law, which focuses on cases involving personal injury, including wrongful death, 18-wheeler cases, on-the-job injuries, premises liability, dram shop cases and auto collision cases throughout New Mexico, Texas and Arizona. Her mission is to help injured people who are being treated unfairly by insurance companies at a time when they need the help the most. Connie is a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas who attended the University of Denver and graduated in 2003 with honors from the National Honor Society. Connie went on to attend the University of New Mexico School of Law and graduated in 2008, where she was a recipient of a Dean’s Award. During law school, Connie pursued her passion in advancing minorities in the legal field and became President of the Mexican American Law Student Association.
Connie’s passion is mentoring teenage parents for them to continue their education. Having her first son at 15 years old, she knows how difficult it is to stay in school after becoming a young parent. Her mission is to help and support as many teenage parents as possible by sharing her obstacles and how to overcome them. Connie frequently speaks at local schools and organizations to share her story and the adversity she overcame to become the successful woman she is today. Connie’s late mother would remind her that when she blessed others, blessings would come her way from places she had never imagined. This is a belief she lives by everyday.

Giving Back to Irvin High School: The Efren Jimenez Memorial Fund
Upon receiving the news that Connie J. Flores was selected as this year's Honored Outstanding Ex, Mrs. Flores believed strongly that it was her responsibility to give back to our Irvin students in need. With the help of the El Paso Community Foundation and her Law Firm of Flores Mendez Law, Connie Flores established a trust in memory of her brother, Efren Jimenez, who tragically lost his life while he was a junior at Irvin High School.
This trust will specifically support students under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, which guarantees educational rights for children and youth experiencing homelessness.
