Aros Sanchez Teacher of the Month January.

What separates a good teacher from a truly impactful one?

For Coach Aros Sanchez, a history professor at Irvin High School, the answer lies in continuous learning—both for his students and himself. In addition to teaching history, Arros also serves as a coach for the school's volleyball team, shaping young minds both in the classroom and on the court. His journey in education began at Bowie High School, where he spent two years honing his craft before moving to Irvin. Now, with nearly a decade of teaching experience, he remains dedicated to inspiring and growing alongside his students every day.

Coach Aros Sanchez's greatest accomplishment has been redefining Irvin’s volleyball team, a transformation that ultimately led to the school’s first championship. However, for Coach Aros Sanchez, it’s not about the title, it’s about the challenges they overcame along the way. He takes the most pride in the hard work, dedication, and resilience his team demonstrated to achieve their success.

When Sanchez began college, he aspired to become a PE teacher. His passion for teaching took root in high school when he discovered a love for helping others learn. Some of his fondest memories from those years were spent on the volleyball court as a player. After becoming a history teacher, an opportunity arose to coach Irvin’s volleyball team—a perfect fit for his background and passion. For Coach Aros Sanchez, it felt like everything had fallen into place.

Congratulations Coach Aros Sanchez!
