Dear El Paso ISD,
As we near the end of 2024, I want to express my gratitude to each of you for your hard work and commitment throughout this semester. With just one week left before our winter break, I urge everyone to stay focused and finish the year on a strong note. Let's continue providing our students with valuable learning experiences and ensuring that each day is meaningful as we approach the end of the calendar year.
This week, we were inspired by the power of collaboration and innovation showcased at Silva Health Magnet High School. Five recent graduates have achieved a historic milestone by earning their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees at the young ages of 19 and 20. This remarkable accomplishment was made possible through a unique pipeline program that connects El Paso ISD, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso, the University of Texas at El Paso, and El Paso Community College. These partnerships demonstrate the incredible results we can achieve when we come together to empower our students. Such collaborations are essential as we continue to focus on holistic student development and prepare our students for success in their future careers and communities.
We also witnessed the spirit of generosity in action during the annual Holiday Blessings event at Moye Elementary School. Students from Franklin and Coronado High Schools joined hands to bring holiday cheer to children in need. Their collective efforts provided clothing, toys, and even bicycles to elementary students, highlighting the strong sense of community and leadership within our district. These moments exemplify the unity of our El Paso ISD family and our shared dedication to making a positive impact beyond the classroom.
This week, I had the privilege of attending the Guillen KickStart Kids belt ceremony on Tuesday. Congratulations to the students at Guillen Middle School and of course to Navarette, Charles Murphree, and Bobby Joe Hill for their success. These events celebrate the discipline, resilience, and determination of our students, who continue to grow and thrive through the KickStart Kids program. I am incredibly proud of their achievements and the dedication of the staff who guide them.
Destination District Redesign focuses on reimagining our schools to meet the needs and aspirations of our students, families, and community. By promoting innovation, equity, and excellence, we are charting a path to transform El Paso ISD into a district of choice and opportunity. I encourage you to stay updated on our efforts by visiting the Destination District Redesign webpage.
Together, we are shaping a brighter future for every child in El Paso ISD.
It starts with us.
Sincerely,
