(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – July 7, 2025) — El Paso ISD proudly announces the appointment of Raquel Fierro as the new principal of Lamar Elementary School. Fierro officially steps into her new role on July 7, 2025, bringing more than 29 years of educational leadership, teaching, and community engagement to her new campus.
A passionate and seasoned administrator, Fierro has served El Paso ISD in a variety of roles, including assistant principal, grant program assistant, and classroom teacher. Most recently, she served as assistant principal at Lamar Elementary and the About Face DAEP District Alternative Education Program, where she was known for her commitment to student success, instructional support, and inclusive leadership.
Throughout her career, Fierro has demonstrated her expertise in curriculum development, instructional leadership, and student support services. She is also a strong advocate for equity and family engagement, having led numerous campus improvement efforts and professional development initiatives.
Fierro holds a Master of Education in Administration and a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso. She is certified in mid-management, elementary math, early childhood education, and professional development.
El Paso ISD welcomes Fierro into her new role and looks forward to the continued excellence and leadership she will bring to the Lamar Elementary community.
