I am very thankful that all our students are safe. The campus is currently secured by appropriate authorities, and I will communicate later today on whether school will resume with a regular class schedule tomorrow. El Paso ISD Board of Trustees and Superintendent Diana Sayavedra were thrilled to recognize two fine arts students for winning district and city competitions. Italia Esquivel from Burges High School obtained first place in the El Paso Regional Art Contest. Her artwork was selected out of 77 entries from the El Paso region. Shaheli De Silva from Young Women’s Academy, earned a platinum medal at the Junior Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE) competition. Her exemplary award is the highest award a middle school student can receive at the Junior VASE competition. #ItStartsWithUs

Dear Parents: Thank you for your support today during the power outage. I appreciate your patience as I know many of you had to wait for longer than expected as we brought your child out. The phones, the intercoms, and the internet went down with the power making it a challenge to bring students down quickly.
