(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT — Aug. 20, 2025) — The El Paso ISD Board of Trustees voted Tuesday to adopt the district’s property tax rate for the 2025 tax year, as required by state law.
The Board approved a total tax rate of $1.0807 per $100 valuation, which includes:
$0.7699 for Maintenance and Operations (M&O)
$0.3108 for Interest and Sinking (I&S) to pay debt obligations
The adopted rate will remain the same as the previous fiscal year (2024–25).
Revenue generated from the M&O tax rate will support the district’s General Operating Fund, which covers day-to-day operations including instruction and campus support. The I&S tax rate is dedicated to repaying debt on voter-approved bonds for facilities and infrastructure.
The resolution formalizing the adoption of the tax rate was passed during the August 19 regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and will authorize the collection of property taxes at the approved rates.
