(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – January 27, 2025) — Creativity, curiosity, and innovation were on full display as dozens of El Paso ISD students participated in the annual District Science and Engineering Fair held on Saturday, January 25, at Andress High School. The event showcased the scientific prowess of young minds as they competed for top honors in a variety of categories, ranging from biology to engineering.
“The Science Fair is a celebration of our students’ ingenuity and dedication,” said Phillip Hash, Director of Academic Operations in the Teaching and Learning Department. “Events like this inspire students to think critically and creatively while also encouraging them to explore how science impacts the world around them.”
More than 150 students presented projects that tackled real-world problems, demonstrated complex scientific concepts, and explored new ideas with the help of their teachers and mentors. Judges from across the community evaluated the entries, looking for originality, scientific accuracy, and presentation skills.

“We are thrilled to host the Regional Science Fair next month,” Hash said. “It’s an opportunity for students to take their projects to the next level and to represent their schools and communities on a larger stage.
