Dear Parent or Guardian, During the school year, students in grades 3 through 5 will have the opportunity to participate in a social-emotional growth measure survey administered at the beginning, middle, and end of the year to assess their social-emotional development. This survey is designed to capture student voice, allowing them to express their perspectives about school culture, climate, and their classroom experiences. The Student Supports and Environments portion of the survey will enable students to provide feedback specifically on their sense of belonging and teacher-student relationships. If you do not want your child to participate, please complete the opt-out form below or stop by the office and pick up a form and return it to your child’s teacher by no later than Friday, September 6th. Survey window will be September 9th-27th. If you have any questions, please contact the school counselor. 📝Estimado padre o tutor, Durante el año escolar, los estudiantes de 3.º a 5.º grado tendrán la oportunidad de participar en una encuesta de medida de crecimiento socioemocional administrada al principio, a la mitad y al final del año para evaluar su desarrollo socioemocional. Our second presentation will be hold on Friday, August 30, @ 9:00 am at our Parent Center room #126. Our Principal Pauletta Howard will be sharing information about Title I, CIP, (Campus Improvement) School-Parent Compact, current School Family Engagement Policy, and the Benefits of Family Engagement Policy. El Paso ISD Board of Trustees and Superintendent Diana Sayavedra were thrilled to recognize two fine arts students for winning district and city competitions. Italia Esquivel from Burges High School obtained first place in the El Paso Regional Art Contest. Her artwork was selected out of 77 entries from the El Paso region. Shaheli De Silva from Young Women’s Academy, earned a platinum medal at the Junior Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE) competition. Her exemplary award is the highest award a middle school student can receive at the Junior VASE competition. #ItStartsWithUs
