A MESSAGE FROM MARTHA AGUIRRE

Dear El Paso ISD,

Welcome to the 2025–26 school year! The first week of school marks an exciting time filled with possibilities and new beginnings. I wish all our students, teachers, and families a year of growth, discovery, and success. I’m looking forward to everything this year holds and to celebrating the many achievements we’ll accomplish together.

As the new school year is underway, I want to remind everyone that attendance is key to student success. Attending class daily ensures students remain on track academically, build strong learning habits, and remain connected to their teachers and peers. Missing just a few days can impact progress, so let’s work together to make daily attendance a priority.

I encourage every student to get involved in extracurricular activities, whether it’s sports, fine arts, academic clubs, or other enrichment opportunities. These programs are not only fun but also help students discover their passions, build friendships, and develop skills that will serve them throughout life. Parents and guardians, please reach out to your child’s campus to explore the many activities available.

We’re also excited to have expanded transportation access in a way we’ve never done before. This year for the first time, students can choose any school within their Zone of Excellence and receive free transportation to their selected campus. It’s a bold step toward equity and access for all learners, giving students greater access to a variety of programs. As with any new initiative, there is an adjustment period, and our transportation team is working diligently to address concerns and ensure routes operate as smoothly as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue improving travel to and from school for every student. For the latest information and updates, please visit our website. If you have questions or concerns, email us at transportation@episd.org.

Just a reminder, the El Paso ISD app is your information source for school updates, communicate with teachers seamlessly and securely through the Rooms feature, access classwork and materials. We are proud to have pioneered use of the app for our community. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead that is filled with learning, achievement, and success for all.

It starts with us.
