(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – September 5, 2024) — El Paso ISD proudly announces the appointment of Amanda Sanchez-Munoz as the new Director of Special Education with Special Education Support Services. Sanchez-Munoz brings over 20 years of experience in special education leadership, including recent roles as the Director of Special Education at Gregory-Portland ISD and San Elizario ISD.
With a deep commitment to advocating for students with special needs, Sanchez-Munoz has successfully navigated the complexities of special education, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while promoting inclusive practices. Her leadership has consistently focused on improving outcomes for students, enhancing professional development, and building strong community relationships.
Sanchez-Munoz brings a strong educational foundation to this leadership role. She holds a Master of Education in Special Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, both from the University of Texas at El Paso.
