As we continue our journey toward transforming El Paso ISD into a Destination District, I am excited to announce that the second phase of the Destination District Redesign (DDR) meetings will commence next week. These meetings are crucial for gathering community input and shaping the future of our district. The meetings will be held at various high schools from August 21 through September 16. Your participation and feedback are invaluable as we work together to create a more vibrant and innovative educational environment for our students. I am thrilled to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Dora Esquivel from Coach Archie Duran Elementary School, who has been named the 2024 ESC19 Elementary Teacher of the Year. Dora's dedication to her students and her innovative teaching methods have made a significant impact on our community. I am also delighted to celebrate Athenas Delgado, a remarkable young woman and recent graduate of the College Career Technology Academy (CCTA). After facing the challenges of dropping out during the pandemic, Athenas demonstrated incredible perseverance and determination to earn her high school diploma. Her dedication to her studies led her to receive over $1.6 million in scholarship offers, including one from the El Paso ISD Education Foundation. Lastly, I want to remind everyone to sign up for our new app. It’s now available on the Apple Store and Google Play. Parents and students can use the app to check out events, lunch menus, and read about school news.
