(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT - August 26, 2024) — El Paso ISD launched its 2024-25 school year with the inaugural Superintendent Student Advisory Council (Super SAC) meeting on Monday, August 26.
The Super SAC, a dynamic group of high school student leaders, meets monthly to offer insights and feedback on decisions shaping the district’s educational landscape. Superintendent Diana Sayavedra opened the session by highlighting the pivotal role of the Super SAC in the district’s mission. “Student voice is critical and important to provide exceptional learning experiences,” Sayavedra emphasized. “I urge every member of the Super SAC to reflect on what truly matters, both for yourselves and for the students you represent.”
The council brings together students from every high school in the district. This year’s cohort features both returning members and newcomers. “Being part of Super SAC is an exciting experience because it allows us to connect with new peers and enhances our skills,” shared Arianna Williams from Austin High School. “This group has been instrumental in boosting my confidence and improving my public speaking abilities.”
Throughout the year, Super SAC members will work on various projects and later present their findings to the El Paso ISD Board of Trustees, contributing to the district’s ongoing development and success.
