1. Income Eligibility Form: The El Paso ISD is required to collect and report the Economic Disadvantage status of each student to the Texas Education Agency (TEA). This information is used to determine eligibility for state and federal funding, accountability ratings and for federal reporting.
This form is not the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) form and has no bearing on your child’s free or reduced lunch program status.
2. Impact Aid Survey Form:
What it is:
A survey that school districts use to determine how many students they have with parents who are in the military, live on federal property, or have other federal connections.
A requirement by the U.S. Department of Education for the district to be eligible for Impact Aid grants.
Why it's important:
For schools: The survey's results help determine the amount of federal funding the district receives. This funding is used to support programs and services for all students, such as for curriculum materials, substitute teachers, and school utilities.
For students: Increased participation can lead to more funding, which directly benefits the quality of education for all children in the district.

Dear Parent/Guardian,
On Saturday, November 22, we would like to invite you to participate in a hike in the Franklin Mountains State Park. This hike is entirely voluntary and all of our faculty, staff, students, parents & siblings are welcome to attend. I have enjoyed many hikes in this area and can confidently say it will be a wonderful experience. Below is the information about where we will meet, what time, what to wear, and what everyone should bring. Please download the SportsYou app and use the access coder below to check in prior to starting the hike and also when ending the hike. This way we can account for everyone and help keep us safe.
Where & Time:
We will meet under the rattlesnake statues @ 8:00am.
Chuck Heinrich Trailhead. Located at 11055 Officer Andrew Barcena Dr. If you head on 54 North, exit Martin Luther King, continue on Martin Luther King until you get to Jon Cunningham and turn left. Continue to drive on Jon Cunningham until the road ends. We will meet under the rattlesnake statues. We will be doing the Tin Mine Trail. It is a historic, approximately 6.6-mile roundtrip hike in the Franklin Mountains State Park that leads to abandoned tin mines which can be explored. The trail offers panoramic views of El Paso.
What to wear:
Shorts or pants
T-shirt or long sleeve
Head covering (baseball cap or other head gear)
Hiking boots or Tennis shoes (I would suggest double socks or thick socks since there are places with lots of rocks)
We will monitor the weather to keep you informed on how to dress accordingly.
What to bring:
Water. The recommended amount of water is one bottle per every hour hiking. Our hike will take 2 1/2 to 3 hours to complete. I would suggest you eat a good breakfast before hiking or bring a high energy snack while hiking.
Fee:
The state park entrance fee is $5.00 for everyone 13 and older. You can pay online at https://tpwd.texas.gov/stateparks/franklin-mountains and click on reservations. You may also pay the entree fee in cash at the trailhead. I have a Texas State Park Pass and can take up to 14 people in, free of charge, on a first come, first serve basis. Parents/guardians are welcome to attend as well as siblings. An adult MUST accompany the student. If parents permit, students may go with a friend’s parent or guardian. Please do not bring pets. There will be other adults on the hike and
safety is a major priority whenever I go hiking.
Please contact me if you have questions at 915-881-7170 or 915-422-7153
*Examples of high energy snacks for hiking:
Trail Mix with nuts or chocolate, etc.
Dried fruit or whole fruit
Beef jerky
Kind bars or Clif Bars or another brand
Peanut butter

Araceli Monarez
