The 8th grade PTA Dance Committee would like to thank everyone who has signed up to donate items for the dance. Also, thank you to all who signed up to volunteer during the dance (make sure you are district approved for Volunteers in Public Schools – VIPS clearance) and all who signed up as pick-up crew at the end of the dance (no VIPS approval needed).
The deadline to submit an application for VIPS approval is Friday, May 23 to allow time for EPISD to approve all volunteers. This way, Wiggs can have a list by June 4th. We are in the final stages of putting together a great dance for our 8th graders and it is Hollywood themed. The theme colors are gold, black, and red. We are still accepting monetary donations for decorations, now that we have enough for pizzas. No amount is too small.
If you have not contributed toward the dance, please do so...it is completely voluntary!

A new and concerning trend is gaining traction on TikTok, and it’s led to the evacuations of some schools. Students are recording themselves sticking items like pencils and springs into the charging ports of their Chromebooks to set them on fire. Consequences of a school evacuation would be severe along with the damages to the laptop falling upon the parent. Speak with your child about not following others or trying this as damages could be costly.
