A message from the Young Women’s STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy:

At the Young Women’s STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy, we believe in the power of young women to dream boldly, lead confidently, and shape the world through creativity, scholarship, and service. As the only single-gender campus in El Paso ISD and the first single-gender New Tech Network Academy in the nation, we are proud to offer a learning environment designed intentionally for the success of girls.

Since opening our doors in 2017, our academy has built a strong foundation rooted in empowerment, rigorous academics, and meaningful partnerships. In 2024, we joined the Young Women’s Preparatory Network, expanding opportunities for college readiness, leadership cultivation, and student well-being.

Our students thrive in a culture built on Trust, Respect, and Responsibility, where learning is hands-on, collaborative, and connected to real-world applications. Through Project- and Problem-Based Learning, students engage in STEAM-centered experiences that challenge them to think critically, innovate, and design solutions that make an impact.

The academy is also proud to be a two-time AP Platinum School and a recipient of the College Board’s Female Diversity Award in both Computer Science Principles and Computer Science A. With an academic program centered around Advanced Placement courses, including the prestigious AP Capstone Diploma, we ensure equitable access to college-level learning for every student.

Beyond academics, our young women express themselves, build confidence, and grow as leaders through a wide range of extracurricular opportunities, including Drumline, Dance, Cheer, Folklorico, Orchestra, Visual Arts, Theatre, Varsity sports, Academic Decathlon, University Interscholastic League (UIL) competitions, Destination Imagination, and student-created clubs.

At the Young Women’s Academy, we are committed to supporting the whole student—mind, body, and spirit—while nurturing future leaders who embody empathy, resilience, personal responsibility, and global awareness.

We invite prospective students and families to join us for our Program Night on Thursday, Nov. 6, from 5:30–7 p.m. Come experience the power of an all-girls educational environment, meet our dedicated educators, and discover how our academy inspires young women to dream, design, and deliver their future.
