Several of our high school students are currently conducting research projects as part of their AP College Board Research course.
As part of these projects, students will be administering voluntary and anonymous surveys to their peers. No names or identifying information will be collected, and responses will not be tracked in any way, ensuring full confidentiality for all participants.
The purpose of this research is to help students explore meaningful topics and strengthen their skills in data collection, analysis, and academic research practices. The findings will support their learning and contribute to their development as scholars and critical thinkers.
This year’s research topics include:
-The impact of dust storms and climate anxiety on students’ social, emotional, and academic well-being
-The academic effects of video game use (including Roblox)
-Makeup use and social influences among students
Environmental consciousness and consumer culture’s impact on marine life
-Online gaming and gambling-like behaviors
Students’ perceptions and feelings about higher education, including financial and mental health factors
-Intrusive thoughts and student awareness of mental health concepts
-The influence of social media influencers on teens’ purchasing decisions and brand trust
-Roblox and its influence on social interaction and social skill development
-Student athletes’ experiences, including support systems and emotional and physical exhaustion
Participation in all surveys is completely optional.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or would like additional information.
Thank you for your continued support.

Good evening YWA Parents,
All morning and afternoon practices for tomorrow, Monday, 1/12/26, have been canceled for all sports, clubs, and extracurricular activities. Students are still required to report to school at the regular time.
Our campus was not affected by the water main break that occurred on the northeast side of town, and school will remain in session.
As a precaution, our water fountains will be temporarily disconnected. Please allow your student to bring a bottle of water to school. We will also have bottled water available on campus for students.
All buses will run on their regular schedules. The only change to our normal operations is the cancellation of all practices for the day. Middle School Basketball tryouts will be rescheduled for a later date.
We look forward to seeing our Warriors tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Dr. Cynthia Ontiveros
