Dear El Paso ISD,
Effective communication is essential for us to effectively connect with our families, build trust across our community, and ensures that everyone is informed, engaged, and inspired. I’m proud to share that El Paso ISD’s Department of Communications has earned multiple national awards from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA). These honors highlight the team’s exceptional work in keeping our community informed, working with the media, storytelling, photography, cinematography, and digital outreach. Congratulations to our Communications Team for their well-deserved recognition!
Also, a big congratulations to Sebastian Garcia of Franklin High School. He was recently recognized by the Texas State Board of Education for demonstrating leadership and compassion through acts of service. Each year, the TEA acknowledges those students who do outstanding volunteer service that benefits their fellow students, schools, or their communities by awarding them with the Student Heroes Award. Sebastian was one of 15 students to receive the recognition, congrats!
As we celebrate these achievements, we also had the joy of welcoming our newest teachers to El Paso ISD this week. Their enthusiasm, dedication, and passion for education were truly energizing, and we’re grateful to have them join our district. Alongside this, we met with campus administrators from across the district to prepare for the exciting school year ahead. These leaders play a vital role in shaping school culture and student success. Together, we look forward to the positive impact our new teachers and dedicated campus leaders will have on classrooms across our community.
We can’t wait to welcome our teachers back next week on Monday, July 28!
Our Back to School Fiesta begins next week! This annual event brings together families, students, and staff for an evening of celebration, connection, and readiness. With music, games, and helpful back-to-school information, each campus celebration is designed to kick off the year on a high note. We hope to see you there!
