Students at Hawkins Elementary celebrated with El Paso ISD Superintendent Dr. Brian Lusk on Friday, January 16 after being recognized for academic excellence by CREEED.
Good morning El Paso ISD,
As we celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we carry with us the values he championed including service, perseverance, and expanding opportunity for all. Those values were on full display this past week as students and staff at Hawkins Elementary were celebrated by CREEED for being a top-performing elementary school in El Paso County with strong academic achievement in reading and math. This honor reflects the dedication, high expectations, and daily commitment to excellence that define EPISD classrooms.
The spirit of service was also evident in the work of EPISD maintenance teams, who worked tirelessly during the recent water outage to ensure campuses were safe and ready for students and staff. Their dedication behind the scenes reflects the collective effort that keeps our district moving forward.
Across the district, campus instructional visits continued, including time spent at Hart Elementary, Canyon Hills Middle School , and Coronado High School among several others, creating opportunities to connect with students and staff and to better understand the experiences that shape each unique school community. These conversations help strengthen relationships and support meaningful learning environments.

This work helps open doors to high-demand careers.
