A MESSAGE FROM DIANA SAYAVEDRA

Dear El Paso ISD,

As we reach the final week of the school year, I want to take a moment to thank each of you for your continued dedication to our students and schools. It’s because of your support, resilience, and unwavering belief in the power of education that we’ve been able to finish this year strong. From classrooms to cafeterias, campuses to central offices—your efforts have made a meaningful difference, and I want you all to know you are deeply appreciated.

Graduation season is officially here! On Friday, June 6, we begin honoring the Class of 2025, starting with El Paso High School and San Jacinto Adult Learning Center. These celebrations are a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we invest in students and guide them toward their dreams. I extend heartfelt congratulations to each graduate and their families. You can find a full schedule of graduations and check out the guidelines on our website here. We’re proud of everything you’ve accomplished, and we can’t wait to see where your journeys lead next.

This week, we also celebrated an extraordinary group of students from our Project SEARCH program. Through our partnership with The Hospitals of Providence, students with disabilities completed a full year of hands-on job training—building both technical and life skills in a real hospital setting. We held completion ceremonies at both the Memorial and Sierra campuses, reflecting the program’s growing reach. It was truly inspiring to hear the students share how this experience gave them confidence, purpose, and even job opportunities. Their success reminds us of what’s possible when we provide inclusive pathways for all learners.

As we head into summer, El Paso ISD remains committed to supporting our students beyond the classroom. Starting Monday, June 9, our Food and Nutrition Services team will offer no-cost meals to children ages 1–18, and enrolled students with disabilities up to 21. These meals are available through the Seamless Summer Option at select schools across the district. To find a location near you, please visit the Food and Nutrition Services webpage. Good nutrition is key to student success—and we’re proud to help nourish our young learners all year long.

Thank you again for making this school year so special. I look forward to celebrating more graduates in the days ahead. Let’s finish strong and enter summer with pride and optimism.

It starts with us.

Sincerely,

Diana Sayavedra
