I have often said that classrooms are the center of our universe, and last Thursday I had the pleasure of attending a very special event celebrating the incredible individuals who keep us in orbit and serve as a guiding light for our students. I am immensely proud to congratulate our 2025-26 Teachers of the Year (TOY), Ramon Rosales Jr. and John Matthews, along with our Educational Support Personnel (ESP) of the Year, Meghan Burford and Veronica Renteria. These individuals, and all the campus TOYs and ESPs, embody the dedication and passion that define our district. We also shared a thrilling moment as Jasmine Gallardo from Telles Academy was awarded a car lease thanks to our generous partners at Rudolph Auto Group. It’s in supporting each other and working together that we achieve amazing things for the children of the region. Let’s keep that momentum going, let’s keep supporting each other, and go be great!
Things to Know
EPCC Commencement

Yesterday was a monumental day for many of our students who participated in the El Paso Community College Commencement ceremonies. Thanks to our robust dual-credit and early college pathways, these hardworking scholars are earning college credits, and in many cases, their Associate Degrees, before they even walk across their high school graduation stage. We are incredibly proud of their discipline and look forward to seeing how this head start propels them into their future careers.
McDonald’s Scholarship Ceremony

Today, we will celebrate our seniors who have been named recipients of the McDonald’s Scholarship. These awards represent more than just financial assistance; they are a recognition of our students' hard work, community involvement, and potential. We are grateful for community partners who invest in our graduates.
Copa de District

Soccer holds a special place in my heart. It helped shaped me and we know it means so much to El Paso – I’m thrilled to announce that El Paso ISD’s inaugural Copa de District, a celebratory district-wide soccer tournament for elementary, middle, and high schools kicks off this weekend!
4th Annual Healthcare Expo & Hiring Fair

Our Career and Technical Education (CTE) department continues to bridge the gap between the classroom and the workforce. This Wednesday, registered students will participate in the 4th Annual Healthcare Expo and Hiring Fair. While this is a student-only event, it is a fantastic example of how El Paso ISD prepares students for high-demand fields. Our students will have the unique opportunity to interview with local healthcare employers, potentially securing their first professional roles before the school year even ends.
