(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – December 6, 2024) — The holiday season is a time of giving, and El Paso ISD is proud to partner with the United States Marine Corps Reserve Unit, based in El Paso, Texas. The reserve’s Toys for Tots program brings joy and hope to children in need. Through this cherished annual campaign, the district is encouraging staff, students, and the community to come together to make a difference by donating new, unwrapped toys.
Donations can be dropped off at the district’s administrative offices at 1014 N. Stanton St. or 1100 N. Stanton St. by Friday, Dec. 13, as well as at participating campuses across the district.
“The Marine Corps Reserve Unit based in El Paso, Texas came to us this year because they fell short of the goal last year,” said Juan Chavez, Director of Employee Benefits. “This is an opportunity for El Paso ISD to unite as a community and spread holiday cheer to children who might otherwise go without. Together, we can ensure every child experiences the magic of the holidays.”
The following El Paso ISD schools are also hosting collection drives:
• Elementary Schools: Archie Duran, Mesita ECDC, Kohlberg, Zavala, Torres, Newman, Mesita Main, Barron, Herrera, Cielo Vista, Powell, Western Hills, Putnam, and Rivera.
• Secondary Schools: Bowie, El Paso, and Burges High Schools.
• Specialized locations: CCTE (Center for Career and Technology Education), PDC (Professional Development Center), and DOC (Delta Operations Center).
The Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program has brought smiles to millions of children since its founding in 1947. By providing toys to children whose families may be experiencing financial hardships, the program helps ensure that every child feels valued and celebrated during the holiday season.
In addition to the district’s efforts, El Paso ISD encourages families to consider participating directly with Toys for Tots by learning more about the program and its mission at www.toysfortots.org.
The district expresses its gratitude to all who support this meaningful initiative. Together, with the generosity of its staff, families, and community partners, El Paso ISD is helping to make the holidays brighter for children across the region.
