El Paso ISD Board of Trustees and Superintendent Diana Sayavedra were thrilled to recognize two fine arts students for winning district and city competitions.  Italia Esquivel from Burges High School obtained first place in the El Paso Regional Art Contest. Her artwork was selected out of 77 entries from the El Paso region.  Shaheli De Silva from Young Women’s Academy, earned a platinum medal at the Junior Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE) competition. Her exemplary award is the highest award a middle school student can receive at the Junior VASE competition. #ItStartsWithUs
El Paso ISD Board of Trustees and Superintendent Diana Sayavedra recognized food service employees for their endeavor and innovation; when updates and new HVAC system installation meant the kitchens at their schools weren’t usable, the staff traveled to partner school kitchens to prepare and then deliver meals to their students. #ItStartsWithUs

Please be sure you are reviewing grades in Parent Portal and ensuring that your children have no missing assignments. Happy Friday Bulldogs! Thank you all for a successful start to the new school year! A few reminders as we head into the weekend... Lockers have been assigned and students MUST bring two combination locks by Monday if they have not already. Locks are required to secure belongings in hallway and PE lockers. Please be patient with traffic when dropping off and picking up students, only utilizing our marked traffic lanes. The safe arrival of our students and staff is our top priority. All 6th graders will be issued a new laptop beginning next week. Please make sure they bring their current device with case and charger each day ready to turn in. Have a great weekend!
