U.S. Attorney Jaime Esparza, an alumnus of Burges High School, recently returned to the campus to participate in an interactive Q&A session with 200 seniors.
Joining him were two esteemed guests: Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, Kristen Clarke, and Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legislative Affairs, Carlos Uriarte. Together, they shared invaluable insights, highlighting the importance of civic engagement and the impact students can make in their communities.

Today students will be provided an ID sleeve and clip in first period. Students will need to wear their student ID while on campus everyday clipped from the waist or above. This is a safety requirement and part of Texas education code. If your student needs a Burges student ID, they can get one in the library.

Early Release for staff development on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024 @ 11:50. Lunch from 11:50 - 12:30. Bus pick up @ 12:30.

Our fall intercession/break will begin on Wednesday, October 2. There will still be classes on Monday (Sept. 30) and Tuesday (Oct. 1). Classes will resume on Monday, October 14, 2025.
