(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – March 26, 2025) — The 17th Annual El Paso ISD Student Digital Film Festival is set to shine a spotlight on young filmmakers from across the region on Saturday, April 12, at the Lee Capshaw Fine Arts Center at Coronado High School (100 Champions Place).
This year’s festival is a testament to the creativity and storytelling abilities of students from Region 19, grades K-12, who will present their original digital films for the community to enjoy. The event is divided into two screenings: secondary students (grades 6-12) from 1-3 p.m. and elementary students (grades K-5) from 5-7 p.m.
The red carpet even begins at 12 p.m. for secondary students and at 4 p.m. for elementary students.
For the first time in the festival’s history, the event will be entirely student-run. Coronado High School students have stepped up to organize and host the awards ceremony, adding a new level of engagement and leadership to this annual tradition.
"We are incredibly proud of our students for showcasing their creativity and storytelling skills through this film festival," said Coronado High School Principal Dr. Angela Reyna. "This event not only highlights their hard work and dedication, but also fosters a love for filmmaking and the arts. We can't wait for the community to see their talent on display."
