Coronado Class of 2026

CORONADO HIGH SCHOOL'S CLASS OF 2026 CONTINUES TRADITION OF ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT - June 8, 2026) — More than six decades after opening its doors on El Paso's West Side, Coronado High School continues its tradition of excellence as it celebrates the accomplishments of the Class of 2026.

This year, 614 students will receive their diplomas, joining generations of Thunderbirds who have made their mark in academics, athletics, fine arts, leadership, and community service.

Leading the Class of 2026 is Valedictorian Jacob Teng and Salutatorian Clare Kim. Joining them are All-Girl graduate Mia Martinez and All-Boy graduate Sami Hanbali.

The graduating class includes dozens of students who earned associate degrees through Coronado's P-TECH program, allowing them to begin college with significant coursework already completed while still in high school.

Since opening in 1962, Coronado High School has built a reputation as the "Pride of the West Side," earning recognition for excellence in academics, music, athletics, student leadership, and community involvement. The campus has long been home to award-winning programs, including its band, orchestra, Academic Decathlon team, and a wide range of extracurricular opportunities that help students grow both inside and outside the classroom.

Coronado's mission is to advance the academic, artistic, emotional, physical, and social education of every student, preparing graduates to become productive members of society. The accomplishments of the Class of 2026 reflect that commitment and demonstrate the determination, talent, and resilience of Coronado students.

"The Class of 2026 has left an incredible legacy at Coronado High School. Today we celebrate not just what they achieved, but who they have become," said Principal Dr. Angela Reyna.

As the Thunderbirds prepare to begin their next chapter, whether pursuing higher education, entering the workforce, serving their communities, or following other aspirations, they carry with them the pride, traditions, and spirit that have defined Coronado High School for generations.

Congratulations to the Coronado High School Class of 2026.
