A MESSAGE FROM MARTHA AGUIRRE

Dear El Paso ISD,

As we prepare to celebrate the Fourth of July, I want to wish all of our El Paso ISD families a safe and joyful holiday. This special day is a time to reflect on the values that unite us; freedom, community, and hope for a brighter future.

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to visit one of our El Paso ISD Summer Camps. Spending time with students inspires me as I see them grow in their learning, whether it was through STEM activities, storytelling, arts and crafts, or even hanging out with baby goats. These camps are full of fun and discovery and are also a great option for parents who want a safe and engaging place for their kids during the day. For more information visit episd.org/summer-camp.

I also want to share exciting news about a special ElPaso ISD tradition, our Summer Musical is turning 40 this year! Over the last four decades our students have been shining onstage during the summer and this year will be no different. They will be performing Chicago: Teen Edition. The show is free of charge from July 16 to July 19 at the Coronado High School Auditorium, doors open at 7:00 p.m. It’s a great way to support the amazing talent from our high school fine arts programs.

Looking ahead, we’re thrilled to kick off the school year with our 3rd Annual Back to School Fiesta! This district wide celebration is a great way to see friends, connect with your campus community, meet your child’s teachers, and just have fun. You can find dates, times, and details at episd.org/episd-fiesta.

Don’t forget to complete registration for the 2025–26 school year. You can register quickly and easily at episd.org/register.

Also a quick reminder that our district will return to summer hours next week. All offices will be open Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. You can find more details at episd.org/summer-schedule-2025.

Finally, the Information Security and Technology Department will be performing maintenance on the servers which will impact some of our district services tomorrow, July 4, 2025, from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. It may impact the district website accessibility and other district services. During this period, please call (915) 297-9292 for the EPISD Police Department services.

Whether you're staying close to home or traveling to be with loved ones, enjoy your holiday weekend. From all of us at El Paso ISD, Happy Independence Day!

It starts with us.

Sincerely,

Martha Aguirre

Interim Superintendent, El Paso ISD
