Dear El Paso ISD,

We are always looking for passionate individuals eager to make a difference in the lives of our students. This Saturday, we’re excited to host our districtwide Job Fair! Join us on April 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Starlight Event Center to explore the many rewarding career opportunities available across our schools. Whether you’re an educator seeking a new role or looking for a meaningful career in support services or district operations, we invite you to connect with principals and department leaders—and even participate in on-the-spot interviews. Visit episd.org/jobs to apply and learn more. We hope to see you there!

I also want to remind our families that registration for the 2025–26 school year is now open! From Pre-K through 12th grade, we encourage new and returning families to secure their child’s place in El Paso’s Destination District for Excellence. Registration is quick and easy to complete online. Whether you’re continuing your journey with us or just beginning, El Paso ISD offers innovative academic programs, enriching extracurriculars, and a safe, inclusive environment where all students can thrive. Learn more by visiting the El Paso ISD 2025-26 Registration webpage.

This week, I had the privilege of celebrating an inspiring student-led project at The Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus. El Paso High School Fine Arts students unveiled the Wall of Hope, a stunning art installation in the hospital’s Medical/Oncology Unit. Featuring iconic El Paso imagery—such as the Star on the Mountain and the downtown streetcars—these works symbolize the resilience, spirit, and beauty of our Borderland. This project is a shining example of how art can provide healing and connection, and I couldn’t be prouder of our students for sharing both their creativity and compassion with the community.

Our student leaders are also making an impact on a statewide stage! Last weekend, student councils from Burges and Coronado high schools took center stage as hosts of the 2025 Texas Association of Student Councils Conference in Arlington. With support from peers across our district, they coordinated key sessions, performances, and special events that highlighted El Paso ISD’s exceptional leadership and talent. It was an honor to speak at the event and witness firsthand the energy, collaboration, and vision of our young changemakers. Their dedication is shaping a brighter future for all.

I also want to highlight another incredible way our students are giving back. Through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, students from Coronado, Irvin, and Burges high schools are providing free tax preparation services to families across El Paso. This initiative is a powerful example of learning in action, where students apply real-world skills while supporting their community. If you or someone you know needs assistance, I encourage you to take advantage of this valuable service. Our students are not only gaining practical experience but also demonstrating the generosity and civic responsibility that define the El Paso ISD spirit.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support of our students and schools. Together, we’re building something extraordinary.

It starts with us.

Sincerely,

Diana Sayavedra
