El Paso ISD Board of Trustees and Superintendent Dr. Brian Lusk were proud to recognize Andress High School student Abel Castanon for earning the prestigious Outstanding Performer Award at the UIL Texas State Solo-Ensemble Contest. This honor is among the highest individual recognitions for student musicians in Texas. In addition to this honor, he maintains a 4.368 GPA, is a member of the Andress P-TECH program, and recently represented his campus at the National History Day competition at the Smithsonian.
El Paso ISD Board of Trustees and Superintendent Dr. Brian Lusk were excited to recognize Burges High School senior Alexandra Rosales for her election as President of the Texas Association of Student Councils, a prestigious role that positions her as a leading student voice for young leaders across the state. Beyond this achievement, she balances a rigorous schedule as a Burges Early College High School student, National Honor Society member, and drum major of the Burges Band.

The El Paso ISD Board of Trustees will have its regular board meeting at 5 p.m. today at the El Paso ISD Administration Building, 1014 N. Stanton St.

Estimadas familias de Douglass:

¡Cada minuto cuenta! Los estudiantes pueden entrar a sus salones a las 7:55 a.m., el desayuno se sirve de 8:00 a 8:15 a.m., y la instrucción comienza puntualmente a las 8:15 a.m. Los estudiantes que lleguen después de las 8:15 a.m. se consideran tarde.

Recuerden que Texas requiere que los estudiantes asistan por lo menos al 90% del año escolar para recibir una calificación final o crédito. Para los estudiantes de primaria, faltar más de 17 días puede afectar el crédito o las calificaciones finales.

Las tardanzas frecuentes también hacen que los estudiantes pierdan rutinas importantes de la mañana, tiempo para convivir con sus compañeros y el inicio de la instrucción, lo cual puede hacer que se atrasen rápidamente.

Dear Douglass Families,

Every minute matters! Students may enter classrooms at 7:55 a.m., breakfast is served from 8:00–8:15 a.m., and instruction begins promptly at 8:15 a.m. Students arriving after 8:15 are considered tardy.

Please remember that Texas requires students to attend at least 90% of the school year to receive a final grade or credit. For elementary students, missing more than 17 days may affect credit or final grades.
