(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT — Dec. 1, 2025) — El Paso ISD officially opened its newest Family Resource Center on Friday, November 21 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Lamar Elementary, expanding the district’s ongoing effort to support students and families with essential resources.
The Lamar Family Resource Center will serve families in the El Paso High School feeder pattern. The center features a client-choice food pantry stocked with groceries, hygiene products, toiletries, and other necessities. Families are able to select items that best meet their needs, reinforcing the district’s commitment to dignity-centered support.
The new center is part of El Paso ISD’s Community Schools initiative, a districtwide effort focused on breaking down barriers that affect student well-being. Similar resource centers are already operating in the Bowie, Jefferson, and Irvin communities, where they have become trusted hubs for support and connection. The Lamar center expands that network and strengthens efforts to care for families across the region.
