At the Massing of the Colors, JROTC Cadets from Bowie, Burges, and Franklin joined veteran organizations, the U.S. Army, and the Boy Scouts of America to present their unit flags and pay tribute to the service and sacrifice of military members.

During the Rio Grande Honor Flight, JROTC Cadets from Burges and Jefferson gave Vietnam Veterans the heartfelt welcome home that they may not have received upon their original return from Vietnam.
