Belinda Perez

(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – February 5, 2025) — El Paso ISD is proud to announce the appointment of Belinda Perez as the new principal of Canyon Hills Middle School. With nearly two decades of experience in education and a deep commitment to student success, Perez is ready to lead the campus into a new era of academic excellence and innovation.

Perez has been an integral part of Canyon Hills Middle School since 2022, serving as assistant principal and playing a key role in implementing instructional and social-emotional learning initiatives. She has been a thought partner in the campus redesign efforts and has worked closely with educators and families to support student achievement.

"I am honored and excited to continue serving the Canyon Hills community in this new role," Perez said. "My goal is to foster a supportive and dynamic learning environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive academically and personally."

Prior to joining Canyon Hills, Perez held leadership and teaching positions at Guillen Middle School, Bowie High School, and Andress High School. She has extensive experience in curriculum development, teacher mentorship, and instructional coaching.

Perez holds a Master’s in Educational Administration and a Bachelor’s in English and American Literature from the University of Texas at El Paso. She is also fluent in English and Spanish, a skill that allows her to effectively communicate and build relationships with the diverse community she serves.

As principal, Perez will continue to support Canyon Hills Middle School’s redesign model, which focuses on instructional excellence, extended learning opportunities, and strong community partnerships. She is dedicated to ensuring that Canyon Hills remains a school where students are challenged, inspired, and prepared for future success.
