Dear El Paso ISD,
Everyone at El Paso ISD is thrilled to welcome both new and returning students for the 2025-26 school year! Registration for Pre-K through 12th grade opens on April 1, giving families the opportunity to secure their childās place in El Pasoās Destination District for Excellence. Parents and guardians can conveniently complete the process online, ensuring a smooth start to another year of innovation, academic success, and enriching extracurricular opportunities. We encourage families to register early and explore the many programs our district offers to help every student thrive.
I am also incredibly proud of the Burges and Coronado High School student councils as they prepare to host the 2025 Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) Conference in Arlington from March 29-31. This prestigious event will bring together student leaders from across the state to collaborate, share ideas, and grow as future changemakers. It is an honor for El Paso ISD to take center stage at this gathering, and I am excited to address these young leaders as a speaker at the conference. Their passion, hard work, and dedication to leadership continue to set a shining example for students everywhere.
I also want to take a moment to celebrate two outstanding educators in our district. Eric Esquivel, Assistant Band Director at Don Haskins PK-8, has been recognized with the prestigious 2025 Schwartz Novice Teacher Award and Vanessa Sias, 4th grade Self-Contained Monolingual teacher at Cooley Elementary, was honored with the prestigious Lavis Mentor Teacher award. Eric and Vanessaās passion for education is truly inspiring, and their dedication to nurturing our young students is making a lasting impact. Congratulations to Eric and Vanessaāwe are so proud to have you as part of the El Paso ISD family!
Our district also remains committed to fostering creativity and innovation, and I invite our community to support our talented young filmmakers at the 17th Annual El Paso ISD Student Digital Film Festival on Saturday, April 12. Hosted at the Lee Capshaw Fine Arts Center at Coronado High School, this yearās festival will be entirely student-run, with Coronado students leading the way in organizing and hosting the event. This unique showcase highlights the incredible storytelling abilities of our students in grades K-12. I encourage everyone to attend and witness the outstanding creativity and dedication of these future filmmakers.
Additionally, El Paso ISD is hiring! If youāre looking for a meaningful career that makes a difference in studentsā lives, I encourage you to attend our Job Fair on Saturday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Starlight Event Center. We are seeking passionate individuals for teaching, support staff, and other key positions across the district. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet our school leaders, learn about career opportunities, and even participate in on-the-spot interviews. Our district is committed to recruiting the very best to support our students, and we hope to see many talented candidates there!
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our students, schools, and community. Letās keep working together to make El Paso ISD the best place to learn, grow, and lead.
It starts with us.
Sincerely,
Diana Sayavedra
