(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – April 24, 2025) – The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has released the official 2023 A–F Academic Accountability Ratings, confirming El Paso ISD’s early projection of a “C” rating with an official score of 78. This validation highlights the district’s dedication to transparency and its proactive approach to addressing academic challenges.
In January 2023, El Paso ISD conducted an in-depth analysis of student performance and district-wide data which projected a “C” rating. Even before the official ratings were released—delayed by a statewide lawsuit involving multiple districts—the district began implementing transformative initiatives to address areas of need.
Guided by a mission to achieve excellence, El Paso ISD has embraced bold strategies to elevate academic outcomes and increase high-quality educational opportunities across the district. These efforts are part of a comprehensive plan to ensure every student receives the support and resources they need to succeed, as the district works toward an “A” rating.
Superintendent Diana Sayavedra stated, “The progress we’ve achieved reflects the dedication and hard work of our educators, staff, students, and their families. While I am incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished so far, there is still much work ahead. We are implementing focused strategies and making bold changes to enhance student outcomes, remaining steadfast in our commitment to fostering a culture of high expectations, academic excellence, and continuous growth across all our campuses.”
