El Paso ISD Board of Trustees and Superintendent Diana Sayavedra were thrilled to recognize two fine arts students for winning district and city competitions.  Italia Esquivel from Burges High School obtained first place in the El Paso Regional Art Contest. Her artwork was selected out of 77 entries from the El Paso region.  Shaheli De Silva from Young Women’s Academy, earned a platinum medal at the Junior Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE) competition. Her exemplary award is the highest award a middle school student can receive at the Junior VASE competition. #ItStartsWithUs
