Dear Parents/Guardians
On friday, September 27, 2024 at approximately 9:00 AM, the staff and students at Kohlberg Elementary School will participate in a lockdown drill. The purpose of the drill is to prepare our students and staff for any emergency that may occur where it may be necessary for us to lock down classrooms and/or the entire building.
In preparation for the drill, staff have instructed students that we will be practicing being safe just as we do for fire drills and severe weather emergencies. Staff members informed students that on Wednesday morning an announcement will be made prompting everyone to follow our school lockdown procedures and that this is simply a practice drill.
Safety is our top priority at Kohlberg Elementary School. We conduct drills because we want our students and staff members to be safe as well as to develop an awareness of their roles in these various scenarios.
