Learning beyond the classroom: A Silva Health Magnet High School student lets a child listen to his heartbeat during the El Paso Science Festival held over the weekend.
We have reached that point in the spring where the finish line is in sight, but the work is as important as ever. This month, we've seen our students win state titles, publish books, and give back to their neighborhoods. This is all proof that when we provide the right platform, our kids will always rise to the occasion. As we navigate the busy weeks ahead, let’s remember that every interaction we have with a student is an opportunity to be the spark that changes their trajectory. Let’s make this week count!
Things to Know
State of the District

Last Wednesday, we gathered at the historic Hotel Paso del Norte to celebrate the "heart and soul" of our district. It was an honor to stand alongside student leaders like Emiliano Carrillo and Lexi Rosales to share our vision for the future. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our partners and the El Paso ISD Education Foundation.
SkillsUSA Success

El Paso ISD CCTE students dominated the SkillsUSA Texas State Competition in Corpus Christi! With three Gold Medals in Cybersecurity and Nail Care, we are officially sending three exceptional students to represent the 915 at the National Leadership & Skills Conference in Atlanta this June. Congratulations to all our participants for proving that EPISD excellence is recognized across the state!
A Rocket Returns to Her Roots

We are incredibly proud of Irvin High School alumna and WNBA star Kayla Thornton, who returned to her roots last week to launch the Kayla Thornton Kairos Foundation. Specifically designed to support the Whitaker, Canyon Hills, and Irvin feeder pattern, the foundation focuses on mentorship, mental health, and leadership. Kayla’s "Kairos moment" is a gift to our students, proving that no matter how far our graduates go, their hearts remain in the Northeast. We are grateful for her commitment to ensuring our students realize they can achieve anything.
