The El Paso ISD Board of Trustees and Interim Superintendent Martha Aguirre were thrilled to recognize Sherita Martin, Instructional Technology Specialist, for receiving the distinction of becoming an ISTE Certified Educator! This recognition from the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) is awarded to educators who have successfully demonstrated competency in the ISTE standards for educators. Good Morning Western Hills Families,

I am attaching our PowerPoint from our GT Information Session we went over yesterday during Parent Conferences. All 2nd grade students (unless previously coded GT) will be tested at the beginning of October. Originally scheduled for this week, however the system is down for updates.

All other students who have been recommended will test after intersession.

Students referred for GT testing will complete the CogAT testing which has 3 tests components verbal, nonverbal, and quantitative. If they have a qualifying score in any section they will then move on to a classroom assessment that tests their artistic abilities, creativity, and problem solving.

All students who qualify for GT services will be coded by December 18th, and start receiving GT Services in January.

We will do our very best to keep you updated throughout the testing process. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to Piper Norris our GT coordinator. Her email is pavondra@episd.org.

Roadrunner CHS Parade participants,

All waivers have been turned into Coronado. Students and parents who have a waiver need to arrive at Coronado Ag parking lot at 5pm on September 17, 2025. It is next to the Tennis courts! Please consider car pooling from Western Hills to Coronado for the parade if possible.

We are in need of hard candy donations to hand out during the parade, please consider donating a bag. you may turn it into the front office.
