Jorge Saenz Director for Special Education New El Paso ISD Appointment

(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – July 15, 2024) — El Paso ISD is pleased to announce the appointment of Jorge Ernesto Saenz as the new Director of the Special Education Department. Saenz brings extensive experience in educational leadership, with a strong track record of promoting excellence in student programs and services.

Saenz holds a Masters in Education from Sul Ross State University and a Bachelors in Liberal Arts from the University of Texas at El Paso. He is also certified as a Principal (EC-12), Educational Diagnostician (EC-12), and in Generic Special Education (PK-12).

Throughout his career, Saenz has held various significant roles. Most recently, he served as the Assistant Director of Special Education at Socorro Independent School District, where he ensured compliance with Special Education, Dyslexia, and 504 programs. Prior to that, he was the Executive Director of Special Programs and the Director of Special Education at Fabens Independent School District.

Saenz’s leadership and dedication to fostering inclusive and high-expectation environments have earned him numerous accolades, including the UTEP ACP Elementary Intern of the Year and the Region 19 Elementary Teacher of the Year.

With his extensive experience and commitment to excellence, Jorge Ernesto Saenz will positively impact the Special Education Department at El Paso ISD. Saenz will work alongside Dr. Domingo Jauregui, who was also announced as the Director of the Special Education Department, on July 2.
