Dear YWA Parents and Families,
It is with deep pride and gratitude that I share I have accepted the Executive Principal position in our district. In this new role, I will oversee and support our middle and high schools, working closely with principals and their teams to strengthen instruction and ensure success for teachers and students across the district.
Serving as your Principal for nearly 10 years has been the greatest honor of my career. I have had the privilege of welcoming new 6th grade classes each year and celebrating the graduation of three incredible senior classes. For many of our students, I have been blessed to serve as their principal for seven years, from their very first day in 6th grade to their walk across the stage in 12th grade. I have built meaningful bonds with you as parents. You welcomed me into your families and together we have shared tears of both joy and sorrow. I will never forget the relationships we have built or the trust you placed in me to walk alongside your daughters.
YWA will always hold a special place in my heart as its founding Principal. I will continue to support the campus and participate in our cherished events and traditions. While I will deeply miss seeing our students, families, and staff each day, please know I am always a call or email away.
I will begin transitioning out of the position in the coming weeks, but will still support the campus as we finish the year strong!
I invite you to be part of selecting YWA’s next principal. We will hold a meeting this Friday, Feb. 20th at 4:15 pm in B100 to gather your input. In addition, a survey will be sent to ensure your voice is heard and your ideas are thoughtfully considered as we shape the search for our next campus leader.
Thank you for your trust, partnership, and unwavering support over the years. It has been an honor to serve the Warrior community. You are in the best of hands with my teachers, staff, and leadership team. We will continue to focus on students, ensuring we provide the best learning opportunities.
With much gratitude and forever your Warrior!
Dr. Cynthia Ontiveros
