A MESSAGE FROM DIANA SAYAVEDRA

Dear El Paso ISD Community,

I want to begin by wishing everyone a restful and enjoyable Fall break. This break is the wonderful opportunity to recharge and spend quality time with loved ones. I hope you return refreshed from your time off.

I’m also excited to announce a significant development for El Paso ISD’s long-term infrastructure planning. The Board of Trustees unanimously approved the hiring of a bond strategist, IN2 Architecture, Inc., to help guide the district through the bond planning process. El Paso ISD is committed to a transparent and inclusive process, and your input will be crucial as we move forward. These early efforts ensure that any potential bond is thoughtfully researched, openly developed, and aligned with El Paso ISD’s vision of becoming a Destination District. In addition, El Paso ISD is thrilled to be part of El Paso Giving Day, an annual event that empowers our community to make a difference by supporting local causes. This year, our participation in collaboration with Marathon Petroleum includes a $5,000 matching grant, which will double the impact of donations made from October 10 to October 17. We are thrilled to announce the return of the Amigo Airsho! El Paso ISD has partnered with event organizers to provide transportation for attendees and offer tickets to our aerospace students. This event is a fantastic opportunity for students interested in aviation and aerospace to witness cutting-edge technology and skill up close, and we’re proud to support this community-driven event.

I also want to congratulate Irvin High School’s Angel Valenzuela, who has been named this week’s El Paso Children’s Hospital High School Athlete of the Week by the El Paso Times. Special mention goes to Oscar Flores of Austin High School and Jamari Milton of Andress High School, who were also nominated for this prestigious honor. We are proud of these student-athletes for their dedication and commitment both on and off the field.

Finally, October is National Principals Month, and we want to take this opportunity to express our deep appreciation for the incredible leaders serving as principals throughout El Paso ISD. Their dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to providing high-quality education make an immeasurable difference in the lives of our students every day. Please join us in celebrating and thanking these leaders for their outstanding contributions.

Enjoy your Fall break and thank you for your continued support and dedication to El Paso ISD!

Remember, It Starts With Us.

Sincerely,

Diana Sayavedra
