Dear Barron Families,

We are excited to welcome our Pioneers back for a **new nine weeks of learning and growth!** After three days of focused interventions and a restful Fall Break, we hope you enjoyed time with loved ones and had the chance to recharge.

As we begin these next 9 weeks, our staff remains **intentional and purposeful** in every effort to support your child’s academic, social, and emotional success. We are grateful for your continued partnership in making Barron Elementary a place *“where Pioneers learn and belong.”*

* **Interim Assessments** begin on Tuesday, Oct. 21st RLA for 5th, Oct. 22nd for 3rd, and Oct. 23 for 4th grade. The following week, Math on Oct. 27th for 3rd, Oct. 28th for 4th, and Oct. 29th for 5th grade. During testing, we ask families to help ensure students are rested, on time, and ready to do their best each day.

Teachers will also review classroom and campus expectations to ensure a smooth and successful return for all students.

Mark your calendars for 🎃 **Upcoming Events: Coffee with the Principal on Tuesday, Oct. 21st @ 8:30-gain insight on our high quality instructional materials, and how to become a VIP. Oct. 22 at 8:00 am VIPs and more, Oct. 24th Family Fitness Day through PE assigned times. Trunk or Treat** – We’re excited to celebrate with our school community on the 29th! Candy donations are welcome, and we invite families to join in the fun. Ms. Berry will send out details for family participation.
October 31st is Staff Development, students will have early release at noon on this day.

🎃 Pioneers, it's an exciting month at Barron Elementary! 🎃

🗓️ The updated calendar now reflects all the fun things added to October 2025!
🗓️Intersession starts this Wednesday, October 8th, and runs until October 10th.
🍁Fall Break starts next week! No school October 13th-17th!
📸 Picture retake day with Hotshots is Wednesday October 22nd!

EVENTS🎃
☕️ Coffee with the Principal is happening Tuesday, October 21st at 8:30 am. This is a great way to get updates and information on your campus straight from the source! Pull up a chair, grab a coffee, and join us as we learn about amplify instructional materials, access to programs, and VIPS in your school.

📚Our VIP AM and Pm meetings are happening October 22nd at 8:00am and 2:25 pm. We suggest this meeting if you are:
1.) Just curious about the opportunities at your elementary school and want to see if becoming a VIP is really for you.
2.) Wanting to volunteer but having a hard time navigating the internet to get to your application.
3.) Already a volunteer but want to get information on ways you can help in the coming months!
We will be helping those interested, like grandparents, who may have a harder time navigating the internet to submit an application. Computers provided

💪Family Fitness Friday is happening October 24th! See flyers for times so you can join your pioneer on this exciting Friday!

🎃Trunk or Treat is happening Wednesday October 29th, 5-7pm! Join us as we ditch the doorbells and get spooky treats from car trunks instead! Those wanting to hand candy out from their spooky trunk must become or be a VIP.

🐾 Sunny's anti-bite class is coming to your elementary! K-2+ CRC Pioneers will be attending this class to learn about safety around dogs. It's important we keep our little ones bite free when around dogs, so we are inviting you to join us! You get to come and hear the same great information with your child as we learn how to be safer as a family with fury friends.
