A MESSAGE FROM DIANA SAYAVEDRA

Dear El Paso ISD,

As we enter the final days of the school year, I want to thank you for your continued dedication to our students and schools. It is an honor to walk alongside our students, families, and staff as we work together to shape a brighter future for every child.

Today, we look forward to honoring the incredible dedication of our team at the annual El Paso ISD Employee Service Awards. This special celebration recognizes staff for their years of service and their tireless contributions to our mission. Whether you’ve been with the district 25 years or 55, your impact matters—and we are deeply grateful.

We are also proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students. Congratulations to Wiggs Middle School sixth-grader Emiliano Ferran Martinez, who earned first place at the 2025 Regional Spanish Spelling Bee hosted by ESC Region 19! Emiliano correctly spelled "cardiovascular" after 30 intense rounds and now advances to the state competition in June.

In athletics, congratulations are in order for Franklin High School’s Kendall Olivas and Ayden Fraire, who earned second place in Mixed Doubles at the 6A State Tennis Tournament. We are incredibly proud of their performance and the way they represented our district.

I also want to congratulate the outstanding students who received scholarships from the El Paso ISD Education Foundation at Andress High School on Tuesday. These students worked hard to get to where they are, and we are proud of their success. We will be rooting for them as they prepare to leave high school and head on to the next level of their young careers.

As summer approaches, we are also preparing to keep our students healthy and nourished. El Paso ISD’s Food and Nutrition Services will once again provide free, nutritious meals for children and youth ages 1–18 through the Seamless Summer Option program. Meals begin June 9 at select campuses. Visit our Food and Nutrition Services webpage for more information and to find a meal site near you.

Looking ahead to the next school year, registration for the 2025-26 school year is now open. Families can register at episd.org/register. This includes registration for Lamar Elementary School, which will remain open for the upcoming year. Families who previously registered at another campus and wish to make a change may update their registration at any time.

The end of the school year is upon us, and we are filled with excitement as we look ahead to graduation ceremonies and celebrations across our district. Here is a link to the graduation dates. We can’t wait to honor the Class of 2025 and all they’ve accomplished.

Thank you for being part of the El Paso ISD family. Let’s finish strong—together.

It starts with us.

Sincerely,

Diana Sayavedra Superintendent, El Paso ISD
