Our community is responding to a significant water main break affecting thousands of families and several El Paso ISD campuses in Northeast and parts of Central El Paso. While we always strive to keep schools safely open as centers of learning and support, current conditions required some campuses to close, while others remained open under a boil water notice.
The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority. We are working closely with El Paso Water, the City, and trusted partners to ensure decisions are based on verified, up-to-date information. I am grateful to our partners, including Fort Bliss, for their swift support in providing water resources, and to our families and staff for their patience and understanding as we navigate this situation together.

Water Safety
Campuses operating under a boil water notice have received bottled water for students and staff and are following established safety protocols. Water access is being carefully managed as officials work to confirm it is safe for normal use, and every decision continues to be guided by safety at every step. We are also grateful to Fort Bliss for providing water buffaloes to impacted campuses, helping ensure access to potable water during this disruption.
District and Community Support
This situation has highlighted the strength and care of the El Paso ISD community. District teams have been working alongside campuses to deliver bottled water, and principals have been visiting classrooms to check in with students and staff.
