Dear El Paso ISD,
Spring is in full bloom, and as we prepare for the upcoming school year, I want to remind everyone that registration for the 2025-26 school year opens on April 1. Whether your child is starting Pre-K, transitioning to a new grade level, or joining El Paso ISD for the first time, we are excited to welcome them with exceptional academic programs, innovative learning opportunities, and a supportive environment. To complete your childās enrollment and secure their place in our district, please visit www.episd.org/register.
I am also thrilled to announce that six El Paso ISD schools have been recognized on the 2024 Texas Honor Roll, awarded by Educational Results Partnership (ERP) for outstanding academic performance and student achievement. Silva Health Magnet, Transmountain Early College High School, Hornedo Middle School, Milam Elementary, Polk Elementary, and William C. Herrera Elementary have excelled in closing achievement gaps and advancing student learning. Only 12% of schools in Texas received this honor, and I am incredibly proud of the dedication and hard work of our students, teachers, and staff who continue to elevate El Paso ISD as a leader in education.
Our students are also shining in the El Paso ISD Spanish Spelling Bee, where Shaheli De Silva from Young Womenās STEAM Prep Academy and Emiliano Ferran Martinez from Wiggs Middle School tied for first place for the second consecutive year! These exceptional spellers demonstrated remarkable perseverance and linguistic skills in a thrilling final round and will represent El Paso ISD at the regional competition. Congratulations to Isaac Diaz from Paul Moreno Elementary, our runner-up. We are so proud of these talented students and wish them the best as they continue their journey!
Opportunities for student success extend beyond the classroom. The El Paso ISD Education Foundation Scholarship is now open for graduating seniors planning to pursue higher education at a university, community college, or trade school. This scholarship, which awards up to $5,000, recognizes students for their academic achievements, leadership, and community involvement. Applications are due by Friday, April 4, and I encourage all eligible students to apply and take the next step toward their future.
Every day, I am inspired by the talent, dedication, and hard work of our students, teachers, and staff. Together, we are shaping the future of El Paso ISD and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive. Thank you for being a part of our journey toward excellence!
It starts with us.
Sincerely,
Diana Sayavedra
Superintendent, El Paso ISD
