Thank you for your support this week! We are off to a wonderful start to the new school year, and I couldn't be more proud of our students, staff and families.
As we continue settling into our routines, please be patient and courteous during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. I understand that these times can sometimes be frustrating, but when everyone follows our traffic procedures and shows kindness to one another, dismissal typically takes only about 10 minutes.
A few important reminders:
During morning drop-off in the side loop, please do not park or leave your vehicle. Students should exit on the side closest to the sidewalk. The drop-off loop is designed to keep traffic flowing, so lease help by moving through as efficiently as possible.
Parents with a valid 2026-2027 school year placard may use the front loop for drop off.
For families picking up students in the 4th and 5th grade area, please use extra caution when walking to meet your child. Stay on the side of the street and do not walk through moving traffic, as this creates a serious safety hazard.
If you are traveling on Coates Street, please be considerate of vehicles exiting the school. When possible, allow drivers to safely pull out into traffic. A little patience and courtesy go a long way in keeping traffic flowing and ensuring the safety of our students and families.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping us keep our students safe!
📣 Join us tonight at Franklin High School for the District 6 Candidate Forum beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Get to know the candidates, hear their priorities, and learn about their vision for the future of El Paso ISD.

Pre-K and Kinder Families: You may pick up in the front loop, but please do not park. We will have one lane of traffic open, and will bring your child to you! It may be a little slow at first, but it will get better as time goes on.
Thank you for your support with this to ensure dismissal is safe for our littlest Polar Bears.
Together, we stand strong and remain committed to carrying forward the spirit of hope, resilience, and strength that defines our community.

First Day Reminders:
Parents are welcome to walk their child to class on the first day of school. Pre-K and Kinder will walk their child to the cafeteria.
Teachers will greet students beginning at 8:00 AM in their classrooms. Pre-K and Kinder will greet students in the cafeteria.
To help us begin instruction on time, we kindly ask that all parents exit the building by 8:15 AM.
Our PTA will be hosting a Boohoo and Woohoo breakfast from 8:30-9:30 AM. This is a great opportunity to enjoy light refreshments and gather with other Herrera families.
Morning Drop-Off Reminders:
There are two options for morning drop off:
1. Students can be dropped off in the large car loop located to the right of the school. There is no parking permitted in the loop.
2. You may also park in the visitor's lot (two rows of parking spaces closest to Ruby Street) and walk your child to the front doors.
Families with placards will be permitted to drop off in the loop directly in front of the school.
Afternoon Pick-Up Reminders:
Pre-K and Kinder will be picked up in the loop in front of the school (this year, due to safety, we are not allowing parking in the loop. We will walk your child out to your car)
1st , 2nd, and 3rd grade will be picked up in the loop on the right-side of the school.
4th, 5th and Special Education students will be picked up in the back of the school.
As everyone is aware, it is still extremely hot. Please send your child with a labeled reusable water bottle each day so that they stay properly hydrated.
We are looking forward to the best school year yet!
We'll see our students tomorrow, August 3, for the first day of school! 🌟
