Dear Western Hills Community, With the DDR decision finalized, and after listening to your concerns, we agree that a full-time principal is needed at Western Hills to ensure your child continues to receive an exceptional education. Mr. Don Belknap, a former assistant principal at Western Hills who knows the community well, will serve as the interim principal for the remainder of the school year and will assist in ushering in a smooth transition as we prepare to receive the Rivera families next school year. We will be gathering community feedback to build a principal profile as we seek your permanent principal for the 25-26 school year. Please watch for information on that in the next couple of weeks. Putnam also deserves a full-time principal as they transition to closure. Melissa Ortiz will return to her home campus, and we want to thank her for serving both communities. Additionally, this community has been phenomenal through the changes and we appreciate you so very much. We thank you for sending us your very best asset—your kids. We will continue to serve them first and foremost.
