Good Morning 2nd Grade Parents,

Unfortunately during this mornings GT screener there was an error with student ID numbers. District has asked us to pause testing incase information is lost when correcting the Student IDs in the CogAt testing platform. They are working on it now, and we will test it out this week to ensure it is good to go. Our new plan is to complete the GT Screener after intersession once we have confirmed all errors have been fixed.

Good Morning Western Hills Families,

I am attaching our PowerPoint from our GT Information Session we went over yesterday during Parent Conferences. All 2nd grade students (unless previously coded GT) will be tested at the beginning of October. Originally scheduled for this week, however the system is down for updates.

All other students who have been recommended will test after intersession.

Students referred for GT testing will complete the CogAT testing which has 3 tests components verbal, nonverbal, and quantitative. If they have a qualifying score in any section they will then move on to a classroom assessment that tests their artistic abilities, creativity, and problem solving.

All students who qualify for GT services will be coded by December 18th, and start receiving GT Services in January.

We will do our very best to keep you updated throughout the testing process. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to Piper Norris our GT coordinator. Her email is pavondra@episd.org.
